SHUBUTA, MS — Michael A. Chiaradio, the Democratic nominee for Congress in Mississippi’s Third District, expressed his gratitude to supporters following Tuesday’s general election, in which he was defeated by incumbent Republican Congressman Michael Guest.
Chiaradio received more than 103,000 votes across the district, representing a substantial improvement in Democratic performance compared with the 2022 congressional election.
The campaign operated without paid campaign staff, relying on volunteers, individual contributions, and grassroots support from communities throughout the district.
Following the election, Chiaradio thanked everyone who supported his campaign, expressed pride in giving the people of Mississippi’s Third District something to build upon, and described serving as their candidate as an honor.
His message received an outpouring of encouragement from supporters, including many who expressed appreciation for his campaign and urged him to consider running again.
