LOUISVILLE, MS — Democratic nominee for Congress Michael A. Chiaradio attended the Juneteenth Celebration in Louisville last weekend, joining community members for a day of reflection, fellowship, and civic engagement.
During the event, Chiaradio had the opportunity to speak with attendees from across the region and discuss the issues facing Mississippi’s Third Congressional District. Many participants expressed enthusiasm about the campaign and encouragement about its growing momentum throughout the district.
In his remarks, Chiaradio spoke about the significance of Juneteenth as a reminder that the United States is a work in progress and that each generation has a responsibility to continue the work of expanding opportunity and strengthening communities.
He encouraged attendees to remain engaged in the political process and emphasized the importance of individual participation. Chiaradio shared the story of a neighbor who had never been registered to vote before being encouraged to participate in the democratic process, noting that meaningful change often begins with simple conversations between neighbors and friends.
Chiaradio also spoke about what he believes is a historic moment for Mississippi and the nation. He urged those in attendance to do whatever they can to contribute, whether that means volunteering, helping register voters, talking with friends and family, or simply making a plan to vote.
As the campaign continues to build momentum across Mississippi’s Third Congressional District, Chiaradio remains focused on expanding voter participation and building the grassroots infrastructure necessary to compete and win in 2026.
