Chiaradio Meets with Simpson and Kemper County Voters

SHUBUTA, MS — Congressional candidate Michael A. Chiaradio, Democratic nominee for Mississippi’s 3rd Congressional District, spent the past week meeting with voters and local Democratic leaders in Mississippi as the campaign continues organizing ahead of the 2026 general election.

On Thursday, March 5, Chiaradio attended a meeting of the Simpson County Democratic Party, where local members discussed policy priorities and early organizing efforts to prepare for strong voter turnout in November.

The campaign continued its outreach on Saturday, March 7, at the Kemper County Candidate Meet and Greet in De Kalb. During the event, Chiaradio briefly outlined the campaign platform, answered questions from attendees, and met with residents interested in the his economic and healthcare proposals.

Key issues discussed included expanding access to affordable healthcare, rebuilding infrastructure through strategic federal investment, and increasing teacher pay by establishing a federal minimum salary framework that allows the federal government to partner with states to raise educator wages.

The campaign also highlighted the importance of strengthening Mississippi’s agricultural economy by rebuilding domestic industry through agricultural value chains, improving market access for small farmers, and expanding access to land and capital for rural entrepreneurs.

“Our state has the resources and the people to be a national leader in rebuilding American industry,” Chiaradio said. “Mississippi should be at the center of a new era of agricultural production, manufacturing, and rural development.”

Chiaradio also emphasized the need to focus national resources on domestic economic development rather than overseas conflicts.
“We should not be in this war with Iran,” Chiaradio said. “We need to focus on building our economy here at home, and investing in production that can help us work with other countries.”
