Chiaradio Meets with Lauderdale County Democrats

MERIDIAN, MS — Michael A. Chiaradio, Democratic nominee for Mississippi’s 3rd Congressional District, attended the monthly meeting of the Lauderdale County Democratic Party in Meridian as the campaign continues expanding its grassroots organizing efforts ahead of the 2026 general election.

Local Democrats discussed strategies to increase voter turnout and strengthen party infrastructure across Lauderdale County, with a particular focus on maximizing engagement in Meridian as a key driver of electoral success in the district.

Chiaradio spoke briefly about the campaign’s path forward, emphasizing the importance of sustained local engagement, consistent presence, and investment of campaign resources into high-impact areas like Lauderdale County.

The campaign’s message continues to focus on expanding access to affordable healthcare, rebuilding infrastructure through targeted federal investment, increasing teacher pay, and advancing a long-term strategy to reindustrialize Mississippi’s economy.

Central to that strategy is positioning Mississippi as a national leader in agricultural value chain development and rural economic growth, alongside improving access to capital for small businesses and maintaining a regulatory environment that supports expansion and job creation.

Following the meeting, Chiaradio met with several local leaders, including Meridian Mayor Percy Bland and Lauderdale County Supervisor Joe Norwood, as part of ongoing efforts to build relationships and strengthen coordination at the local level.

The campaign will continue organizing across Mississippi’s 3rd Congressional District with an increased focus on turnout operations and community-level engagement.
