SHUBUTA, MS — Democratic nominee for Congress Michael A. Chiaradio spent two days last week meeting with disability advocates and labor leaders, continuing his effort to build relationships with organizations and communities across Mississippi’s Third Congressional District.
Chiaradio first traveled to Jackson to attend a meeting of the Americans with Disabilities Advisory Council, where he had the opportunity to speak about his campaign and discuss issues affecting Mississippians with disabilities and special needs. During the meeting, he emphasized the importance of investing in transportation infrastructure that works for everyone and ensuring accessibility remains a priority in public policy decisions.
The meeting provided an opportunity for Chiaradio to hear directly from advocates and community members about the challenges facing people with disabilities and their families. He discussed the importance of accessible infrastructure and making sure all Mississippians have a voice in the decisions that affect their daily lives.
The following day, Chiaradio met in Meridian with the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers to discuss his platform and areas of potential cooperation. The conversation covered workforce development, infrastructure investment, labor issues, and economic policies that impact working people across Mississippi. The meeting was productive, and discussions about future support remain ongoing.
Chiaradio said both meetings reinforced the importance of maintaining open lines of communication with community organizations and stakeholder groups. He noted that many people feel disconnected from Washington and deserve elected officials who are willing to listen, engage, and remain accessible after Election Day.
As the campaign continues to build momentum across Mississippi’s Third District, Chiaradio remains focused on bringing people together around a shared vision for the future.
