Chiaradio Meets With Central Mississippi Labor Organizers Following AFL-CIO Endorsement

JACKSON, MS — Democratic congressional nominee Michael A. Chiaradio met with members of the Central Mississippi Central Labor Council over the weekend as union members made calls and organized ahead of the November 3 election.

Chiaradio stopped by the AFL-CIO building to spend time with labor leaders, canvassers, and phone bankers who are working to engage union members in Mississippi’s Third Congressional District.

The visit comes less than two weeks after the Mississippi AFL-CIO officially endorsed Chiaradio’s campaign for Congress and announced plans to organize through Election Day.

The Central Mississippi CLC is part of the AFL-CIO’s network of state and local labor councils and works to mobilize union members and community partners throughout the region.

Chiaradio has spent months meeting with union members and labor leaders across Mississippi, including addressing the Mississippi AFL-CIO Convention in Biloxi and meeting with workers and local unions throughout the campaign.

Chiaradio has said his economic agenda would prioritize major investments in energy, water, transportation, and healthcare infrastructure, along with policies intended to expand economic opportunity and employee ownership.
