Shubuta, MS — Democratic nominee for Congress Michael A. Chiaradio announced today that he has earned the endorsement of State Representative Kabir Karriem.
Karriem currently serves in the Mississippi House of Representatives representing District 41 and is Chairman of the Mississippi Legislative Black Caucus. Throughout his career in public service, he has been a leading advocate for economic opportunity, community development, voting rights, and policies aimed at strengthening underserved communities across Mississippi.
Before joining the Mississippi Legislature, Karriem served two terms on the Columbus City Council, where he built a reputation for community engagement and public service. Since his election to the House of Representatives in 2016, he has become one of Mississippi’s most recognizable Democratic leaders and an influential voice on issues affecting working families and local communities.
Karriem’s endorsement comes as the Chiaradio campaign continues expanding its grassroots operation throughout the district with a focus on lowering healthcare costs, investing in infrastructure, strengthening public schools, and supporting local food systems and small businesses.
Mississippi’s Third District is competitive and can be flipped in November through strong grassroots organizing, voter outreach, and sustained community engagement.
