PHILADELPHIA, MS — Democratic nominee for Congress Michael A. Chiaradio spoke at the Neshoba County Fair this week, delivering a message centered on unity, community, and a shared vision for Mississippi’s future.
Addressing fairgoers during one of Mississippi’s most well-known political traditions, Chiaradio focused his remarks on the importance of bringing people together rather than emphasizing political divisions. Drawing from his own experience after moving to Shubuta, he shared the story of how his neighbors welcomed him into the community and taught him that one of life’s greatest assets is having neighbors who care for and support one another.
Throughout his remarks, Chiaradio emphasized that while Americans will always have differences of opinion, those differences need not prevent people from working together on the issues that matter most to their communities. He encouraged attendees to focus on their common interests and to have faith in the country’s ability to continue moving closer to its founding ideals.
Chiaradio also outlined his priorities for Mississippi’s Third Congressional District, including investing in infrastructure, strengthening public schools, protecting healthcare, supporting seniors, and expanding opportunities for small businesses and family farms. He described these goals as practical investments that can strengthen communities and improve quality of life throughout the district.
The speech concluded with a commitment to represent all constituents, regardless of political affiliation or whether they supported his campaign. Chiaradio pledged to work to make Mississippi stronger by focusing on solutions, cooperation, and public service.
