Chiaradio Campaign Hosts Thanksgiving Community Giveaway in Quitman

QUITMAN, MS — Democratic congressional candidate Michael A. Chiaradio hosted a Thanksgiving mutual aid event at Sumrall Park, distributing turkeys and sweet potatoes to people across Clarke County. The event drew a strong and enthusiastic turnout.

Chiaradio opened the event with a lighthearted moment, talking about his favorite Thanksgiving dish, sweet potato casserole with marshmallows, before turning to the larger message.

“Congress is supposed to represent the people,” Chiaradio said. “But too often, it doesn’t, because politicians follow donor money instead of the best interests of the people. If you elect me, I pledge to represent you, and work for you.”

He highlighted the growing momentum among Democrats in Mississippi, noting that the party broke the legislative supermajority in 2025 and has continued gaining ground.

Chiaradio emphasized that this momentum benefits everyone, explaining that increased political competition produces stronger ideas, better outcomes, and more responsive leadership. He described the current effort as part of a broader movement that extends well beyond any single election cycle.

He pointed to the narrow margin in the most recent governor’s race as evidence that Democrats are well-positioned to win statewide in 2027 with disciplined organizing and strong candidates at every level.
He also reiterated his belief that Mississippi should be a competitive swing state in the 2028 presidential election, a state where national candidates must visit, listen to voters, and invest in local markets.

Chiaradio concluded the event by thanking attendees, wishing them a happy Thanksgiving, and reaffirming his commitment to representing the people of Mississippi with integrity and purpose.
