DE KALB, MS — Democratic congressional nominee Michael A. Chiaradio attended a Meet and Greet hosted by the Kemper County Democratic Executive Committee over the weekend.
The event drew a strong turnout, including local community leaders, faith leaders, and pastors.
Chiaradio was the featured candidate and spoke about his campaign’s four major policy priorities: lowering healthcare costs, investing in infrastructure, strengthening public schools, and supporting small businesses and small farms.
While emphasizing the importance of these issues, Chiaradio focused much of his remarks on the need for strong voter participation in the November 3 general election.
He described the upcoming election as one that will be decided by turnout and encouraged attendees to help their friends, families, and neighbors participate.
Chiaradio also emphasized that the election is bigger than any individual candidate and that meaningful change requires people throughout Mississippi to become involved.
Democratic United States Senate nominee Scott Colom also joined the event briefly by Zoom to address attendees.
Chiaradio received an enthusiastic response from those in attendance, with several participants expressing their support and willingness to help encourage voter turnout.
With Election Day approaching on November 3, Chiaradio continues to encourage eligible voters throughout Mississippi’s Third Congressional District to make a plan to vote and help others participate.
