Jackson, MS — Democratic congressional nominee Michael A. Chiaradio attended the Hamer-Winter dinner this week honoring the legacies of civil rights leader Fannie Lou Hamer and former Governor William Winter.
The event brought together Democratic leaders, activists, and elected officials from across the state, with remarks from Democratic National Committee Chair Ken Martin and Democratic National Committee Vice Chair Malcolm Kenyatta.
Chiaradio expressed his gratitude for the national party’s engagement in Mississippi and emphasized the importance of continued organizing and investment throughout the state.
The evening focused on the enduring legacy of leaders who fought to expand opportunity, strengthen democracy, and move Mississippi forward during difficult moments in the state’s history.
Chiaradio noted that the event reflected growing energy and momentum within Mississippi Democratic politics and underscored the importance of building long-term political infrastructure capable of competing statewide and across congressional districts.
He also emphasized that Mississippi Democrats have an opportunity to compete and win in 2026 through sustained grassroots organizing, community engagement, and a clear economic vision focused on healthcare, infrastructure, education, and local economic development.
The campaign continues to build relationships and expand outreach efforts across Mississippi’s 3rd Congressional District as momentum grows heading into the 2026 election cycle.
