MISSISSIPPI — Democratic congressional nominee Michael A. Chiaradio joined United States Senate candidate Scott Colom at three campaign rallies across Mississippi’s Third District on Monday, November 2, delivering a personal endorsement of Colom ahead of Tuesday’s general election.
While numerous national political figures have traveled to Mississippi to endorse Colom, Chiaradio emphasized that his own endorsement comes from knowing Colom personally throughout the campaign. The two candidates have shared the stage repeatedly since the beginning of the election cycle.
Chiaradio reflected on how Colom has treated him as a first-time congressional candidate. Rather than treating him as someone less important, Colom has consistently offered guidance, encouragement, and mentorship. Chiaradio described their relationship as something closer to brothers than political colleagues and credited Colom with helping him develop as a candidate.
For Chiaradio, the experience has revealed the man behind Colom’s popular social media presence and campaign food truck. He emphasized that character is demonstrated by how someone treats people who have less influence or recognition, and that his personal experiences have given him tremendous confidence in Colom’s character and ability to represent Mississippi in the United States Senate.
Chiaradio also spoke about the importance of Tuesday’s election, emphasizing that its consequences extend far beyond individual candidates. He encouraged Mississippians to consider the future of their communities, the opportunities available to the next generation, and the responsibility to build upon the progress made by previous generations.
With Colom seeking election to the United States Senate and Chiaradio running for Congress in Mississippi’s Third District, Chiaradio expressed his belief that Mississippi has an opportunity to demonstrate the strength of its electorate. He encouraged residents to participate in the November 3 election and help shape the state’s future.
Polls will be open on Tuesday, November 3, from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
