STARKVILLE, MS — Democratic congressional nominee Michael A. Chiaradio attended the Oktibbeha County Democratic Party Banquet Monday night in Starkville, joining Democratic candidates, party leaders, and supporters ahead of the November 3 general election.
Democratic United States Senate nominee Scott Colom served as the keynote speaker, while First Congressional District Democratic nominee Cliff Johnson also attended.
Members of the Mississippi State University Democrats were also in attendance, along with many Oktibbeha County Democrats whom Chiaradio has gotten to know during more than a year of campaigning throughout the district.
During his remarks, Chiaradio discussed his platform of lowering healthcare costs, investing in infrastructure, strengthening public schools, and investing in small businesses and small farms.
Chiaradio also spoke about what he sees as the urgency of the 2026 election and emphasized that the moment is bigger than himself or any individual candidate.
He told attendees that the future is on the ballot, including the future of Mississippi’s children and the future direction of the Democratic Party, and urged those in attendance to recognize the importance of the moment.
But Chiaradio closed with the hopeful message that has defined his campaign, and which is his campaign slogan, “We CAN Win.”
