Louisville, MS — Democratic nominee for Congress Michael A. Chiaradio attended the Mississippi Legislative Black Caucus Protect Our Voice Legislative Town Hall in Louisville last week, joining legislators, community leaders, and residents for a discussion about issues facing communities across Mississippi.
The Louisville event was part of the Caucus’s ongoing statewide community engagement efforts and included discussion of public policy, voting, and Mississippi’s ongoing redistricting process. Chiaradio attended the event to support members of the Caucus and their work in the Third Congressional District.
The Mississippi Legislative Black Caucus previously endorsed Chiaradio’s campaign for Congress.
Although Chiaradio was not scheduled as a featured speaker, he was invited to address those in attendance and used his remarks to emphasize the importance of voter turnout.
Chiaradio briefly discussed his plans to lower healthcare costs, invest in infrastructure, increase teacher pay, strengthen public schools, and expand opportunities for small businesses and small farms. He emphasized, however, that none of those policies can be achieved without participation at the ballot box.
The event was another opportunity for Chiaradio to spend time with members of the Caucus, many of whom he has gotten to know through events and meetings throughout the campaign.
Chiaradio expressed his gratitude for their continued support and for the Caucus’s efforts to encourage Mississippians to participate in the November election.
With Election Day approaching, the Chiaradio campaign is increasingly emphasizing voter turnout and encouraging supporters across Mississippi’s Third Congressional District to make a plan to vote on or before November 3rd.
