Marion, MS — Democratic nominee for Congress Michael A. Chiaradio attended a Lauderdale County E-911 community education class last weekend, joining local officials, first responders, business leaders, and residents for an in-depth look at how emergency response systems operate.
Hosted by Lauderdale County E-911, the class provided participants with a better understanding of how emergency calls are received, prioritized, and coordinated between dispatchers, law enforcement, fire departments, and emergency medical personnel. The program also offered practical guidance on how citizens can help first responders respond more effectively during emergencies.
Chiaradio attended the class at the invitation of Marion Police Chief Randall Davis and was pleased to reconnect with many of the local officials and first responders he has met throughout his campaign, including members of the Marion Police Department and Lauderdale County elected officials.
Following the program, Chiaradio said the class reinforced his appreciation for the professionalism, preparation, and teamwork required to provide emergency services. He noted that effective public safety depends not only on first responders, but also on the dispatchers and public servants working behind the scenes to ensure help arrives when it is needed most.
Chiaradio said he believes good public service begins with listening to the people doing the work every day. As he continues meeting with local leaders across Mississippi’s Third Congressional District, he remains committed to learning from those on the front lines so he can be a more effective advocate for their communities in Congress.
