Macon, MS — Democratic nominee for Congress Michael A. Chiaradio attended Jeffrey Simmons Fun Day and Fireworks Celebration last weekend, joining residents from across Noxubee County for a day of community fellowship and Independence Day festivities.
Hosted in Macon, the event brought together families, local leaders, and community organizations for an afternoon of entertainment and celebration. Chiaradio spent time meeting attendees before being invited to address the crowd, where he spoke about bringing people together and building a stronger future for Mississippi.
Chiaradio expressed particular gratitude to Mayor Freddie Lee for inviting him to participate and for the generous welcome he received throughout the day. Despite overseeing a busy community event, Mayor Lee took time to introduce Chiaradio to residents, include him in the program, and help ensure he had the opportunity to connect with the community.
Chiaradio said leaders like Mayor Lee represent the best of public service. He noted that local elected officials are often the people who know their communities best and are in the strongest position to identify the investments that will make the greatest difference. He said that, if elected to Congress, he hopes to work closely with leaders like Mayor Lee to help bring federal resources and opportunities back to Mississippi’s cities and towns.
As the campaign continues building momentum across Mississippi’s Third Congressional District, Chiaradio remains committed to working alongside local leaders and helping ensure communities throughout the district have a strong advocate in Washington.
