SHUBUTA, MS — Democratic nominee for Congress Michael A. Chiaradio participated this week in the virtual forum Road to Victory 2026 hosted by the Mississippi Democratic Party where he discussed voter participation, the future of Mississippi politics, and the importance of continued grassroots organizing.
Speaking to activists and community leaders from across the state, Chiaradio acknowledged the challenges facing Mississippi voters, including recent changes to election laws and the upcoming redistricting process. While recognizing those concerns, he encouraged attendees to remain optimistic, arguing that Mississippi is at a pivotal moment and that sustained organizing over the next eighteen months can reshape the state’s political landscape.
Chiaradio emphasized that maximizing voter participation will be critical not only in 2026 but also in the years that follow. He encouraged Democrats to continue reaching new voters, building local organizations, and investing in long-term relationships within their communities, noting that the work being done today will continue to build momentum for future elections.
He also discussed his campaign’s focus on lowering healthcare costs, investing in infrastructure, strengthening public schools, and supporting local food systems and small businesses. Chiaradio said those issues continue to resonate with voters across party lines because they address challenges that affect all Mississippians.
Drawing on his experience speaking at the Neshoba County Fair earlier in the week, Chiaradio shared several conversations he had with Republican voters who expressed appreciation for his positive, solutions-oriented message. He noted that throughout his campaign he has chosen to focus on his vision for Mississippi’s future rather than attacking his opponent, and said he believes many voters are looking for practical leadership centered on common interests rather than political division.
Chiaradio concluded by encouraging participants to remain focused on the work ahead, expressing confidence that sustained grassroots organizing, voter outreach, and community engagement can produce meaningful change throughout Mississippi.
