Chiaradio Attends MS Black Caucus of Local Elected Officials Southern Region Meeting

Magnolia, MS — Democratic congressional nominee Michael A. Chiaradio attended the 2026 Southern Region Meeting of the Mississippi Black Caucus of Local Elected Officials in Magnolia last weekend.

Hosted by Alderman Fred McGee, the meeting brought together elected officials, community leaders, and Democratic activists from across the region to discuss the importance of organizing, voter turnout, and building lasting political infrastructure throughout Mississippi.

During the event, Chiaradio had the opportunity to outline his economic vision and discuss the role the federal government should play in strengthening communities across the state.

He argued that Washington should be leading major investments to lower healthcare costs, modernize infrastructure, strengthen public schools, and build local food systems centered on small businesses and small farms.

Chiaradio emphasized that these investments would help keep more money circulating in local communities while positioning Mississippi to become a national leader in building a stronger, more sustainable economy.

He also noted that a more competitive domestic economy would allow the United States to lead globally through productive capacity and economic strength.

In closing, Chiaradio reflected on the lessons of the civil rights movement, noting that transformative change requires more than voting alone. It requires people to remain active, engaged, and committed to building community around the work that must be done.

The campaign continues to build relationships across Mississippi’s 3rd Congressional District and throughout the state as it works to expand turnout and compete aggressively in 2026.
